Associate Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate various commercial and clinical contracts, such as licensing, collaboration, research, and vendor agreements.

• Oversee redlines, liaise with internal stakeholders, and ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, market access, sales, and other departmental requirements.

• Enhance and maintain contract templates along with associated policies and procedures to facilitate deal cycles.

• Provide guidance on compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., Anti-Kickback, Sunshine Act, etc.), product claims and advertising, as well as data privacy laws (both US and global).

• Serve as the primary resource for everyday legal inquiries and simplify complex legal statutes into actionable guidelines for business teams.

• Assist in creating scalable legal workflows and policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school and an active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar (California, Massachusetts, or Delaware preferred).

• 3–5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with a blend of law firm and in-house experience in healthcare, digital health, or life sciences.

• Significant experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse range of commercial contracts.

• Familiarity with healthcare regulatory frameworks, including FDA regulations for software-based medical devices, HIPAA, and federal and state fraud and abuse laws.

• Knowledge of data privacy and security laws (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA) and experience in implementing privacy compliance measures.

• Capability to interpret and apply healthcare and data protection regulations in a practical, business-friendly manner.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex legal concepts and adjusting messaging for diverse, cross-functional audiences.

• Strong organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

• Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with product, compliance, commercial, and regulatory teams.

• Proactive, solutions-oriented, and adept at exercising sound judgment in uncertain situations.
