📋 Description

• Responsible for providing legal counsel to Alliant's employee benefits business group on a wide array of legal matters and evaluating various contracts and forms, in addition to other licensing and legal issues.

• Reviews, drafts, and negotiates a diverse range of agreements, including master services agreements, vendor contracts, independent contractor agreements, data privacy agreements, confidentiality contracts, referral agreements, business associate agreements, and other commercial transactional documents.

• Offers business-oriented and practical legal advice on issues and risks to stakeholders and leadership.

• Works closely with business units to grasp essential commercial needs in contracts and legal initiatives.

• Cultivates business relationships and earns the trust of internal clients and stakeholders.

• Collaborates with cross-functional corporate teams, including IT, risk management, accounting, sales, operations, marketing, and human resources, on contract evaluations, legal compliance, and company policies.

• Advises Alliant's corporate departments and business groups on privacy and security laws and regulations, as well as related industry standards affecting Alliant, including coordinating and synthesizing insights from external counsel as required.

• Reviews, updates, and maintains internal legal policies, processes, playbooks, checklists, self-service tools, training materials, and templates.

• Executes all responsibilities in alignment with company policies and procedures, as well as all federal, state, and local laws applicable to the company's operations.

• Completes other tasks as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school is mandatory.

• Must be a member in good standing of at least one State Bar or the District of Columbia State Bar.

• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience is required.

• Proficiency in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts is essential.

• At least two (2) years of experience in drafting and negotiating contracts is preferred, particularly with complex commercial agreements, data privacy agreements, go-to-market agreements, or enterprise technology contracts.

• Familiarity with privacy and data protection laws and regulations, including U.S. state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, GDPR, and other privacy regulations, as well as best practices.

• Experience in providing innovative, business-friendly solutions to address issues during complex negotiations.

• Background in another relevant area of law (healthcare, SEC regulatory, insurance, or data privacy) is advantageous.
