This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah, +1 more state.
• Act as a representative for Medtronic during surgical procedures by ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and products.
• Offer technical support, including device selection, programming, and testing of device systems.
• Guide patients through all stages of the clinical process while educating them about Medtronic products.
• Provide clinical assistance during surgeries, reprogramming, troubleshooting, and follow-ups in hospitals and clinics.
• Address technical inquiries from customers, patients, and colleagues.
• Keep updated on competitive products in the market.
• Train and educate physicians, hospital staff, and office personnel through teaching sessions, in-services, educational programs, seminars, and symposia.
• Support Management and Sales Training in onboarding new district employees.
• Utilize Medtronic technology tools to complete event reporting and documentation.
• Process customer service orders for pending purchase orders and product replacements.
• Collaborate with materials management to gather purchase orders for covered cases.
• Oversee case-coverage inventory, including transactions, cycle counts, product retrievals, timely turnover, and avoidance of expired or held products.
• Contribute to quarterly district, regional, and national initiatives and objectives.
• Partner with sales representatives to meet territory and district business targets.
• Visit accounts to replenish literature and foster relationships with office personnel.
• Regularly utilize Excel, mobile phones, iPads, laptops, and/or Samsung tablets.
• Manage business expenses and budgets within the stipulated timeframe.
• Fulfill applicable quality, therapy, and compliance requirements.
• Travel within the district and occasionally to other districts to cover cases.
• High School Diploma or GED with at least 4 years of clinical or medical sales experience; or an Associate Degree with at least 2 years of clinical or medical sales experience; or a Bachelor’s degree.
• Must reside in the assigned territory: Salt Lake City, UT or Casper, WY.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
• Registered nurse or healthcare professional with experience in a sterile environment is preferred.
• Clinical experience with implantable neurological products and patient care is preferred.
• Experience in servicing medical personnel regarding product usage is preferred.
• Background with a medical device or pharmaceutical company and clinical experience in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, operating room, pain management, or home health care is preferred.
• Familiarity with basic reimbursement and the healthcare environment is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Ability to operate while adhering to healthcare universal precautions.
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings, nights, and travel overnight as needed.
• Capable of working efficiently and independently with minimal direction outside clinical events.
• Ability to attend national meetings, district meetings, and training sessions.
• Capacity to wear a 7–9 lb protective lead apron for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Capable of sitting, standing, and/or walking for over 8 hours per day.
• Ability to frequently bend/stoop, squat, and maintain balance.
• Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy required.
• Driving record will be reviewed.
• Ability to drive approximately 50% of the time within the assigned territory and travel overnight as necessary.
• For degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must comply with 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire and for the duration of employment; sponsorship is not provided for roles below the Principal level.
