Associate – Business Process Risk Advisory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the clients’ goals as well as their regulatory and risk management landscape.

• Support projects focused on Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance and Internal Controls.

• Assist in conducting risk assessments, taking into account the potential for misstatement and fraud in financial reporting.

• Evaluate the design adequacy of internal controls to manage financial, operational, and compliance risks.

• Identify control deficiencies and areas for improvement, while designing controls in a greenfield setting; create detailed remediation plans to address these gaps.

• Demonstrate expertise in creating internal controls process flows and risk/control matrices.

• Uphold the required level of technical skill and professional diligence necessary for completing assignments in line with COSO, COBIT, auditing standards, and relevant control methodologies.

• Prioritize tasks, ensuring daily collaboration within the project team, and track progress against schedules, budgets, project deliverables, and status reports.

• Engage extensively with clients to clarify expectations and provide updates on ongoing projects.

• Present both verbally and in writing during and at the conclusion of projects, recommending enhancements or addressing any operational or financial shortcomings to executive leadership.

• Stay informed about emerging risk areas and associated control measures.

• Cultivate and sustain a network of industry contacts while establishing new, long-term relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting.

• Relevant certification is preferred, such as CPA, CIA, and/or CISA.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience, primarily within external audit or risk advisory positions.

• Proven understanding of business risks, internal controls over financial reporting, SOX, and the COSO framework.
