Associate Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage high-volume statewide foreclosure cases.

• Ensure all necessary actions are taken to expedite the firm’s files.

• Serve as a liaison between the firm and clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, trustees, and other foreclosure personnel.

• Manage files in accordance with applicable foreclosure regulations and firm-established timelines.

• Utilize the firm’s case management system to create, manage, and review daily and weekly reports.

• Review and execute various pleadings and correspondence.

• Keep accurate updates in client and firm management systems.

• Draft, prepare, and present pleadings and other legal documents.

• Advocate for the merits of assigned cases at hearings, conferences, mediations, or trials.

• Attend and/or conduct public auctions as required.

• Review title searches to identify any title issues and ascertain the proper parties to serve.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in New York.

• Admitted to practice in New York's federal district courts and/or other states is a plus.

• Strongly preferred experience in real estate, mortgage, and/or commercial litigation.

• Familiarity with FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, along with any relevant state and federal debt collection and real property laws is advantageous.

• Experience in foreclosure and real estate law is a plus; if not, a willingness to learn is essential.

• Outstanding communication skills (both oral and written).

• Willingness to travel as required.

• Detail-oriented with the capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

• Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting.

• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Dedication to maintaining ethical standards and client confidentiality.

• A portable book of business is an advantage.
