Assistant State Director, Tennessee

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• In the role of Assistant State Director for Tennessee, you will play a vital part in our efforts to assist vulnerable children in achieving a brighter future.

• The Assistant State Director is charged with meeting or surpassing annual program results targets for all initiatives implemented within the state.

• As the Child Safeguarding Focal Point for the state, your responsibility will be to ensure the effective implementation of all child safeguarding policies and protocols.

• You will lead a team of Advisors and will be accountable for managing their performance to guarantee that all programmatic and operational objectives are accomplished.

• Additionally, you will oversee all site- and district-level program partnerships and will aid in maintaining essential state-level partnerships to further Save the Children’s strategic goals.

• Collaborating closely with and reporting to the State Director, you will support new initiatives and activities that foster the growth and sustainability of programs in the state.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

• Proven experience in nonprofit or similar fields focusing on education, early childhood, out-of-school time learning, or related areas, with a clear understanding of and ability to communicate issues related to poverty in rural areas.

• A demonstrated history of successful staff management and business operations skills, including experience in managing grants and budgets.

• Willingness and capability to travel, regionally and nationally, up to 30% of the time.

• Proficient in the MS Office suite.

• Professional proficiency in both spoken and written English.

• Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally.

• This position may necessitate the incumbent to operate a motor vehicle to perform certain essential job functions. The incumbent should possess a valid driver’s license and remain compliant with any Save the Children policies regarding the safe operation of a motor vehicle.
