This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Oversee the Labor & Employment function throughout the region
• Offer legal counsel on labor and employment law matters to SGS operations in the US and Canada
• Handle employment claims and litigation processes
• Evaluate both proposed and existing legislation
• Provide legal guidance to management while ensuring compliance
• Collaborate closely with Human Resources and external law firms to manage litigation results
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• 5 to 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney, ideally with a background in both private practice and in-house roles, focusing on US and Canadian labor and employment law
• Must be licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state (preferably Georgia, California, New York, or New Jersey) and maintain good standing as an attorney in that jurisdiction
