Assistant General Counsel, ETS Contracts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Offer legal counsel and advice as an in-house attorney for Strategic Education, Education Technology Services (ETS)

• Negotiate and draft contracts with corporate clients, vendors, and consultants

• Create, revise, and enforce policies for contract review and execution

• Oversee and enhance the contract review process from inception to execution

• Work with internal subject matter experts and business leaders during the contract review

• Support litigation and administrative processes related to contracts and commercial disputes

• Explore legal matters and suggest actions concerning the Company’s contractual commitments

• Assist with general corporate issues

• Provide legal and compliance training to internal clients

• Travel as needed, approximately 10% of the time

⛳️ Requirements

• Bar admission in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC, or Minnesota

• Minimum of three years of legal practice experience

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school

• Exceptional analytical, verbal, and written communication skills

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Proficient in computer and word-processing applications

• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Capability and readiness to exercise independent judgment in a dynamic setting

• Must be available to travel 10% of the time

• Ability to lift 25 lbs.

• Mobility throughout the office, including movement between floors

• Willingness to work over 40 hours per week when business demands

• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management
