Assistant Faculty, English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support to instructional faculty by engaging with students in large online classrooms.

• Develop and apply communication strategies and supplemental instructional techniques to enhance student success.

• Evaluate student participation in discussions and assessments, and respond according to training and lead instructor guidance.

• Assist in managing communications with students.

• Elevate unique issues to the lead instructor.

• Aid in grading and deliver constructive feedback.

• Monitor student engagement and suggest methods to boost participation.

• Offer tutoring, live sessions, and other student support as required.

• Help with student outreach initiatives.

• Contribute to the creation of supplemental support documents, videos, and job aids.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

• Commit to a specified number of hours weekly and report to key Faculty members within the assigned team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior teaching experience is mandatory.

• Experience in online teaching is preferred.

• A Master’s degree in English or Communication from an accredited institution is required.

• A terminal degree in English or Communications is preferred.

• Professional certification in the relevant discipline, if mandated by course credentialing requirements.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to engage effectively with faculty, coaches, and students.

• Strong time management abilities.

• Skills in relationship-building, customer service, and problem-solving.

• High attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through.

• Experience accommodating a variety of learning styles.

• Proficient in using technology to facilitate learning, including Zoom, Teams, and one-on-one live sessions.

• Capability to access information via a computer.

• Ability to communicate effectively across the management hierarchy.

• Competence in handling stressful situations effectively.

• Good attendance record.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• High mental acuity.

• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
