This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of a designated segment within the Women's Knits and Sweaters Tops category, concentrating on Market brands while developing and implementing merchandising and financial strategies to maximize opportunities within the department.
• Curate and lead seasonal line plans and product assortments for both market and private brands, presenting strategies to leadership and cross-functional partners to secure alignment.
• Analyze sales data, inventory levels, and customer feedback on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to effectively manage the open-to-buy budget in collaboration with Planning partners.
• Strategically manage the vendor matrix by negotiating terms, contracts, and pricing with suppliers to enhance profitability, product quality, and timely delivery.
• Perform ongoing market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, detect risks, and uncover new opportunities that align with Stitch Fix clients.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3+ years of experience in a retail buying or merchandising role, preferably in women’s apparel/tops.
• Profound knowledge of retail math, business metrics, financial planning, and managing the complete product lifecycle.
• Experience in Market buying, including a history of managing a multi-vendor matrix and supporting negotiations for margin/AUC.
• A solution-oriented, analytical mindset with the ability to take calculated, data-driven risks in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
• A discerning eye for product and experience in identifying and responding to market trends.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, thriving in a feedback-driven environment, and capable of confidently presenting to leadership.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and equipped with effective time management skills, demonstrating the ability to excel in a fast-paced, nuanced environment where proactive decision-making is crucial.
• Proficient in Google Workplace Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel). Familiarity with utilizing data analytics tools to guide buying decisions.
• This position may require the ability to sit for extended periods, use a computer or other office equipment, communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing), and travel up to 30% of the time.
