Asset Resolution Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Turkey.

📋 Description

• Oversee and evaluate a portfolio of underperforming real estate collateralized commercial loans, including REO, aiming for the most effective and efficient resolutions.

• Lead, train, and develop the Asset Resolution Department team.

• Execute proactive and effective portfolio management in line with established performance metrics.

• Supervise and manage activities related to commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and foreclosure, ensuring compliance with deadlines.

• Direct, monitor, and coordinate with in-house and external legal counsel, collection agencies, and other vendors supporting loss mitigation efforts.

• Engage with clients and their legal representatives.

• Negotiate and draft settlement agreements and bidding instructions.

• Track loss mitigation workout performance and analyze loss severity trends.

• Implement and communicate strategies regarding loss mitigation decisions.

• Maintain reporting on delinquency and loss mitigation, including trend analysis and evaluations.

• Conduct thorough assessments of debtors' financial standing, creditworthiness, personal history, and historical payment records.

• Facilitate negotiations and resolve conflicts effectively.

• Perform extensive quarterly reviews of the managed portfolio to confirm or adjust recovery forecasts.

• Monitor associated expenses (taxes, maintenance, utilities, fees, etc.) and timely recommend protective advances.

• Contribute to budget planning for the Asset Resolution Department.

• Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from a nationally accredited U.S. law school is preferred.

• Background in commercial litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and real estate loss mitigation.

• Proven experience in managing non-performing loan (NPL) pools and REO portfolios.

• Experience in supervising, developing, and mentoring case management professionals.

• Litigation experience with knowledge of litigation management tools.

• Experience with a U.S.-based organization.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (including pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, and reporting), Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Experience with loan servicing systems, case management platforms, or asset management software for managing commercial loan portfolios.

• Ability to interpret and analyze:

• UCC filings

• Assignments of Rents

• Security Agreements

• Title commitments and title policies

• Familiarity with commercial foreclosure, bankruptcy, receivership, and litigation management systems.

• Experience in reviewing and analyzing:

• Property valuations and appraisals

• Environmental reports

• Financial statements and tax returns

• Business cash flow

• Borrowing base reports

• Credit reports

• Ability to prepare and assess:

• Recovery analyses

• Settlement recommendations

• Litigation budgets

• Protective advance requests

• Reserve analyses

• Working knowledge of **PACER**, state and federal court docket systems, Secretary of State business entity databases, UCC filing systems, county land records, and tax assessor websites.

• Experience using **business intelligence and reporting tools** to track portfolio performance, recovery trends, legal expenses, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Familiarity with **eDiscovery, electronic document management systems,** and **secure document sharing platforms.**

• Experience with **Monday.com, Salesforce, SharePoint, or similar workflow/project management systems** is preferred.

• Ability to utilize **AI-assisted legal research, document review, contract analysis, and productivity tools** (such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Westlaw Precision AI, or Lexis+ AI) while upholding attorney judgment and confidentiality.

• Strong understanding of data security, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements relevant to commercial lending and legal operations.
