Assessor – LMHP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough Needs Assessments for the Clinical Department.

• Carry out evaluations for Mental Health Skill-Building, Intensive In-Home, Substance Use Intensive Outpatient, and Substance Use Partial Hospitalization programs.

• Implement counseling techniques and diagnostic theories across a variety of consumer demographics.

• Determine medical necessity and apply DSM-5 diagnoses alongside ICD-10 coding.

• Adhere to submission standards and ensure timely completion of documentation.

• Effectively manage time to meet established deadlines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field within Human Services.

• A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a crisis intervention setting with individuals and families.

• At least two (2) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory role.

• Proven ability to meet deadlines consistently.

• Proficient with computer technology.

• Licensed by the Board of Counseling as an LMHP Type—LPC, LMFT, LCSW, Resident In Counseling, or Supervisee in Social Work.

• Familiarity with direct behavioral health and substance use services.

• Understanding of assessment, treatment, and consultation processes.

• Knowledgeable about DSM-V-TR, including diagnosis and symptomatology.

• Awareness of medical necessity criteria and service components relevant to specific behavioral health and substance use programs.

• Capable of applying counseling techniques and diagnostic theories to a diverse range of consumer populations.

• Competent in assessing medical necessity and utilizing DSM-5 diagnoses and ICD-10 codes.

• Ability to adhere to submission guidelines.
