This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Responsible for designing and overseeing comprehensive AI solutions, encompassing applications based on large language models (LLMs), classical machine learning frameworks, and hybrid methodologies.
• Develops and manages intricate AI systems, including agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) platforms, and decision-support systems.
• Assesses complex business challenges and identifies suitable AI patterns, modeling techniques, and system architectures.
• Establishes and implements evaluation strategies, metrics, and feedback mechanisms to gauge model performance and business impact.
• Directs the creation of data pipelines, feature strategies, and evaluation datasets essential for supporting AI systems.
• Oversees production readiness, ensuring performance, reliability, cost-effectiveness, observability, and resilience against failures.
• Detects and mitigates risks associated with bias, misinformation, data leakage, and unintended AI behaviors.
• Works collaboratively across teams, including product management, platform teams, and stakeholders, to steer solution design and implementation.
• Provides mentorship and technical guidance to fellow team members.
• Aids in the development and refinement of AI engineering standards, methodologies, and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least five years of professional experience in software engineering, data science, machine learning engineering, or AI system development.
• Advanced skills in software engineering, particularly in Python, APIs, testing, and system architecture.
• Advanced knowledge of large-scale data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, Microsoft Synapse, or comparable technologies.
• Strong practical understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence principles, evaluation methods, and potential failure scenarios.
• Practical experience in designing, building, and deploying LLM-based systems utilizing enterprise-level platforms and frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent.
• In-depth comprehension of data quality, feature significance, and model performance with both structured and unstructured data.
• Experience in deploying, monitoring, and refining AI systems within production settings.
• Capability to make and justify technical trade-off decisions that balance accuracy, cost, risk, and scalability.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with the aptitude to influence technical direction and mentor colleagues.
