Area Manufacturing Manager – Controls

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical support across various manufacturing locations.

• Utilize engineering methodologies and best practices to enhance processes.

• Oversee and direct capital projects, including installation and construction efforts.

• Provide technical training on innovative technologies and systems.

• Assist in business and plant capital planning initiatives.

• Create comprehensive plans, specifications, and actionable recommendations.

• Promote technology integration and process enhancement.

• Act as a subject matter expert in:

• Process Controls: Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, PLC5), Siemens PLC.

• Variable Frequency Drives: AC, DC, Servo (ABB/Rockwell/Siemens).

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent military experience/training.

• Over 10 years of experience in Controls, Manufacturing, or Field Technical Support.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the papermill industry is essential.

• Proficiency in VFDs (AC, DC, Servo), with a preference for Rockwell systems.

• Strong understanding of converting machine controls and PLC projects.

• Willingness to travel up to 80% within the U.S.; must be a resident of the lower 48 states.

• Exceptional communication, organizational, and planning abilities.

• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

• In-depth knowledge of NEC, NFPA-70E, and electrical safety regulations.
