This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Responsible for hiring, directing, supporting, developing, and leading a cardiovascular sales team to address the dynamic needs of customers and drive business outcomes.
• Cultivates a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and excellence that aligns with the mission and objectives of Cytokinetics and our colleagues.
• Oversees a successful first-to-market product launch while mentoring and developing a team to meet or surpass company objectives.
• Establishes strong cross-functional partnerships with Patient Services, Marketing, Medical, Operations, Training, and other field teams to represent field insights, address needs, and ensure successful execution.
• Directs the formulation and implementation of an area business plan that aligns with the launch strategies and tactics identified by the brand.
• Maintains a comprehensive understanding and proven capability to execute strategies that support patient access goals related to payer mix, reimbursement programs, and product distribution within the assigned area.
• Leads and exemplifies the use of available data resources to enhance customer knowledge and engagement, aiming to meet and exceed goals.
• Collaborates with the Regional Business Director and other Area Business Manager peers in strategic planning, providing valuable market insights, trends, and competitive activity.
• Develops, nurtures, and sustains relationships with key account decision-makers, healthcare professionals, and influencers to enhance customer engagement.
• Manages area operating budgets, resources, and expenses within set guidelines while ensuring responsible and compliant business practices.
• Provides consistent, timely, and accurate performance feedback to direct reports by observing customer interactions, internal collaborations, and business results.
• Ensures all activities comply with applicable laws and regulations and align with Cytokinetics' culture of ethics and integrity.
• Bachelor’s Degree; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and/or commercial field sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record as a team leader with the ability to develop and empower teams to exceed objectives in care settings that support the treatment of HCM patients.
• Experience with rare disease product launches, specialty product launches, or cardiovascular launches is highly preferred.
• Proficient in navigating complex patient access and treatment workflows, including REMS programs, specialty pharmacy operations, reimbursement processes, and cross-functional coordination to facilitate patient initiation and continuity of care.
• Capable of presenting ideas to individuals and groups, creating and delivering impactful presentations tailored to audience needs.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-functional leadership skills that promote collaboration.
• Ability to travel up to 50% domestically, with occasional visits to customers and Cytokinetics' corporate offices in South San Francisco, CA, and Radnor, PA.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
