This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create project scope, objectives, and detailed plans that outline tasks and milestones in collaboration with the archiving vendor.
• Collect and assess background information, which includes the current application inventory.
• Set up schedules for Project Sponsor status meetings that align with the Epic deployment timeline.
• Identify the governance frameworks and advisory committees that play a role in decision-making processes.
• Establish guiding principles and decision-making criteria for the retirement of applications in accordance with organizational policies and legal standards.
• Verify data retention requirements and provide education to IT and organizational resources as needed.
• Confirm the owners of legacy applications and operations, and conduct interviews to ascertain data usage and user volume.
• Lead the development of archiving solutions, approaches, timelines, and resource allocation with stakeholders and the archiving vendor.
• Coordinate activities and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve organizational agreement on the archiving strategy aimed at retiring legacy applications.
• Oversee and manage the execution of activities necessary for the successful retirement of legacy applications.
• Document issues, risks, mitigation strategies, and weekly project status; escalate matters to leadership as needed.
• Perform additional related duties as required.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience managing complex healthcare IT projects, ideally with a focus on EHR implementations or significant application transitions.
• Demonstrated experience in leading projects involving legacy application decommissioning, data archiving, data migration, or application rationalization.
• Strong capability to coordinate with executive sponsors, IT and business stakeholders, application owners, governance committees, and third-party archiving vendors.
• Experience in defining data retention requirements, comprehending healthcare regulatory/legal obligations, and establishing governance and decision-making criteria for application retirement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Project Management certification, such as PMP, is highly preferred.
