Architectural Draftsperson / Architectural Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Create and produce residential construction documents using AutoCAD, which encompass plans, sections, and fully dimensioned drawings.

• Design structural layouts and conduct basic structural path sizing for residential buildings.

• Prepare diagrams for electrical and plumbing risers.

• Generate and maintain drawing annotations and tags, such as for smoke detectors, windows, and doors.

• Develop details for footings, as well as schedules for windows and doors.

• Incorporate redlines and revisions to ensure completeness and consistency of the drawing set.

• Coordinate deliverables to comply with New York State residential building code requirements (familiarity with New Jersey code is advantageous).

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in drafting residential construction documents using AutoCAD.

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD drafting for residential construction documents.

• Demonstrated ability to independently create basic residential structural layouts and execute structural load path sizing.

• Experience in producing electrical and plumbing riser diagrams for residential projects.

• Familiarity with generating components of residential drawing sets, including sections, details, fully dimensioned plans, and schedules for windows, doors, and footings.

• Knowledge of the New York State residential building code.

• Experience in coordinating on a day-to-day basis with architects, engineers, and project managers located in the US.

• Proficiency in English at the CEFR C1 level (both spoken and written), with the ability to deliver a brief voice note introducing yourself in English.

• A portfolio or work samples showcasing residential drafting and construction document work.

• Capability to provide specifics regarding your equipment setup (PC/laptop specifications, monitors, AutoCAD-compatible setup), power backup, and internet connection, including backups.

• Knowledge of the New Jersey residential building code is a plus.
