This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Define and uphold strategies for enterprise, platform, and solution architecture.
• Create target-state architectures and technology roadmaps that align with business objectives.
• Lead architectural reviews and oversee governance for significant technical projects.
• Ensure consistency in architectural patterns, engineering standards, and design principles.
• Assess emerging technologies and suggest strategies for their adoption.
• Propel modernization efforts, including cloud adoption, platform evolution, AI integration, scalability enhancements, and reduction of technical debt.
• Establish a long-term technical vision while prioritizing fundamental investments.
• Design comprehensive solutions for intricate business and technical challenges.
• Produce architecture diagrams, integration models, data flows, and system designs.
• Evaluate critical design decisions concerning security, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Assist teams in balancing business needs with technical limitations.
• Collaborate with Product Management to synchronize technology investments with strategic goals.
• Partner with Engineering leaders to ensure successful execution of architectural initiatives.
• Work alongside Security, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to guarantee compliance and operational excellence.
• Facilitate architectural decision-making across various teams and stakeholders.
• Advocate for best practices in software development, cloud architecture, observability, resiliency, and automation.
• Establish architecture standards, reference architectures, and design patterns.
• Lead technical design reviews and govern architectural processes.
• Promote continuous enhancement of engineering practices.
• Mentor senior engineers, technical leads, and architects.
• Cultivate technical talent and enhance architectural competencies across teams.
• Influence organizational decisions through technical knowledge and thought leadership.
• Foster a culture centered on innovation, quality, and accountability.
• Operate across multiple teams, products, or platforms.
• Provide architectural governance for high-impact projects and strategic investments.
• Act as a subject matter expert and reliable technical advisor.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 5+ years in architecture, principal engineer, or equivalent senior technical leadership positions.
• Extensive expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, APIs, integration patterns, and data architecture.
• Experience in designing highly scalable, mission-critical software platforms.
• Strong comprehension of security, reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Proven capacity to influence technical direction across various teams without direct authority.
• Preferred: experience in modernizing legacy platforms into cloud-native architectures.
• Preferred: familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud technologies.
• Preferred: experience with SaaS platforms at an enterprise scale.
• Preferred: familiarity with AI/ML platforms, agentic systems, and modern engineering productivity tools.
• Preferred: architecture certifications or advanced technical credentials.
