Architect – Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and scale robust platform services, APIs, microservices, and React applications.

• Lead architectural and technical decisions for essential business and healthcare platforms.

• Collaborate with Product and Clinical teams to comprehend intricate workflows and devise effective solutions.

• Take ownership of the reliability, scalability, performance, and quality of production systems.

• Implement automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and Infrastructure as Code practices.

• Utilize AI-augmented development tools throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Engage in code reviews, provide production support, respond to incidents, and handle on-call responsibilities.

• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction and engineering best practices.

• Develop scalable platform services that connect fragmented clinical systems and facilitate real-time care coordination across healthcare facilities and users.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience in building and deploying production applications.

• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or a comparable modern programming language.

• Extensive knowledge of cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, and scalable service design.

• Significant experience in designing, optimizing, and scaling relational/SQL databases.

• Proven track record in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Strong background in automated testing, TDD, and software quality practices.

• Experience using AI-augmented development tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Hands-on experience with React or contemporary frontend frameworks.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.

• Experience in production observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance enhancement.

• Demonstrated capability to take charge of complex technical challenges and deliver scalable solutions.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.

• Experience in building and scaling SaaS platforms.

• Strong foundation in Java and Spring Boot.

• Experience with Azure and Kubernetes/AKS.

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases.

• Background in healthcare technology or other regulated sectors.

• Understanding of HIPAA, data privacy, and sensitive healthcare information.

• Proven experience in mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.

• Enthusiasm for continuous learning, emerging technologies, and tackling complex technical challenges.

• Comfortable supporting production systems through on-call duties and incident response.

• Must be available to work in EST.
