This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Executes a range of tasks to support project personnel.
• Engages in field activities such as pedestrian surveys, test excavations, and data recovery.
• Responsible for data collection using web-based applications and/or recording field notes and photographs.
• Additional responsibilities may involve aiding in the completion of field forms, data entry, and the preparation of site documentation.
• Opportunity to participate in artifact cataloging and analysis when necessary.
• Collects and inputs data while applying technical principles and theories under supervision.
• High School diploma with 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience and/or education in archaeological fieldwork across California.
• A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is necessary for this position, as travel will be involved.
• US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Over 3 years of experience with diverse field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring is preferred.
• Completion of an archaeological field school is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Geospatial technology, including GPS and GIS, is preferred.
• Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office, is preferred.
