This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Performing Class I Surveys, which involve background research for proposed projects, including map, aerial, and literature reviews, as well as examining SHPO databases for known archaeological sites and surveys.
• Executing Class III Surveys/Phase 1A & Phase 1B surveys by visiting the proposed Project Site and conducting pedestrian surveys and/or systematic subsurface testing.
• Documenting archaeological sites and completing relevant site forms along with eligibility determinations.
• Conducting archaeological monitoring during construction activities.
• Writing technical reports, including Class III reports and desk-based analyses.
• Performing peer reviews of technical reports before final submission to the Client.
• A Master's Degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required.
• Candidates must fulfill the state Principal Investigator requirements and/or possess at least two years of full-time experience in the region involving research, writing, teaching, interpretation, or other verifiable professional activities with an academic institution, historic organization or agency, museum, or similar professional institution.
• Registration as a Professional Archaeologist is preferred.
• Candidates must be Secretary of the Interior Qualified by meeting the archaeological qualifications outlined in the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Guidelines (Federal Register 48:190:44738-44739) (United States Department of the Interior 1983).
