Archaeological Technician – On-Call

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform archaeological monitoring in relation to construction and development initiatives.

• Carry out archaeological surveys, testing, excavation, and data recovery operations.

• Record field observations and maintain precise field documentation.

• Assist with cultural resource investigations and compliance activities.

• Ensure compliance with relevant federal and state archaeological regulations.

• Travel across Southern California to support various project assignments.

• Engage in communication with project managers, clients, agency representatives, and project teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in Cultural Resources Management (CRM) field archaeology.

• Familiarity with federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to archaeology and cultural resources.

• Exceptional attention to detail, along with strong organizational and documentation abilities.

• Proficient in using email, telephone, and video conferencing tools.

• Valid driver's license in California.

• Willingness to travel throughout California as required.

• Capability to work independently in field settings.

• Ability to walk up to 5 miles daily on uneven surfaces.

• Capacity to lift and carry loads of up to 30 pounds.

• Physical readiness to conduct fieldwork under diverse environmental conditions.
