Arborist Trainee, Climber – Transmission

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.

📋 Description

• Manually eliminate vegetation from designated work areas.

• Utilize pesticides as necessary.

• Operate forestry equipment safely, including skidders, mowers, chainsaws, and ATVs.

• Conduct line clearance, pruning, and removals.

• Work off-road on utility rights of way to manage vegetation that protects the power grid.

• Acquire knowledge and skills in felling, climbing, rigging, equipment operation, and vegetation management.

• Complete the required training, licenses, and certifications to progress in the tree-care sector.

⛳️ Requirements

• No prior experience in the tree industry is required.

• Must be able to work 45 hours per week.

• Candidate must be at least 18 years old.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is necessary.

• Must possess a current and valid driver’s license along with reliable transportation.

• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

• Must be physically capable of walking on uneven terrain and lifting 75 lbs.

• Willingness to work at different heights.

• Eagerness to learn how to operate a bucket truck and use equipment safely.

• Willing to obtain a CDL A or B license.

• Prepared to secure and maintain the licenses and certifications required for the role.

• Must successfully complete a post-offer physical and drug screening.

• Must pass a background check and motor vehicle record review.
