AR Medical Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the billing EMR system

• Input billing information

• Prepare and send billing data along with medical claims to insurance providers

• Challenge denied claims

• Address front-end rejections and back-end denials

• Review statements from patients

• Gather and assess referrals and pre-authorizations

• Access EMRs to find patient demographics and insurance details

• Contact payers to verify patient eligibility, authorization, and/or denial status

• Track and document patient payments

• Assist patients in formulating payment plans

• Conduct data analysis, comprehensive evaluations, and judgment-based billing activities

• Liaise with insurance providers, medical professionals, hospitals, and upper management

• Execute other responsibilities as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma is essential

• At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Biller or in a comparable position

• Strong grasp of billing, coding, and EMR systems

• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology

• Understanding of regulatory and billing standards

• Capability to multitask and use time effectively

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Competence to collaborate effectively across departments

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and communication/collaboration tools across various operating systems

• Ability to perform well under deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently

• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills

• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, fully remote work environment

• Must be capable of remaining in a stationary position for 50% of the time
