Applied Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create advanced instruments for gathering data in exploration programs

• Simulate, characterize, and calibrate sensor performance while designing data acquisition systems

• Partner with vendors and collaborators to construct hardware

• Collaborate with operations personnel to deploy hardware in the field

• Develop models utilizing sensor data to forecast ore-grade locations

• Assemble a global dataset for exploration that includes uncertainty quantification

• Explore new opportunities and technologies for acquiring geophysical data

• Design field initiatives to gather geoscientific data

• Proven ability to swiftly absorb and synthesize intricate information

• Strong curiosity and a desire to learn

• Successful history of developing complex equipment in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams

• Experience with physical measurement and data analysis systems

• Application of scientific knowledge to identify and prototype new technologies

• Experience in systems integration and data acquisition

• Extensive proficiency with Python’s data science libraries

• Experience with collaborative software development using git

• Knowledge of SQL and non-relational databases

• Experience in deploying sensors in field environments
