This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform applied research on innovative techniques for representing, compressing, and streaming animated 3D content, emphasizing Gaussian splatting and efficiency for low-power mobile AR/VR devices.
• Rapidly create proof-of-concept models and transition successful experiments into production-ready code to enhance our streaming pipeline.
• Design and assess algorithms for optimizing spatial data, compression, and adaptive streaming based on network conditions and device capabilities.
• Contribute to solutions for complex challenges such as animated content, real-time relighting, integrating content into an AR setting, and enabling open-world VR experiences.
• Collaborate closely with rendering engineers to define data formats, rendering pipelines, and performance targets tailored for mobile hardware.
• Work in partnership with cloud and content processing engineers to develop robust and efficient workflows for the automated processing of diverse user input data into our streaming format.
• Actively monitor and apply the latest research in computer graphics focused on novel view synthesis for mobile devices, including radiance fields, differentiable rendering, and photogrammetry.
• Effectively communicate research outcomes and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated history of leading research that advances the state-of-the-art in areas such as radiance fields, photogrammetry, machine learning for graphics, or real-time rendering, with publications in prestigious conferences or journals in related fields (e.g., SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML).
• Strong grasp of contemporary 3D rendering pipelines and concepts.
• Experience with radiance fields (e.g., Gaussian splatting, NeRF) and related innovative spatial representation techniques is highly preferred.
• Proficient programming skills in Python and C++.
• Experience in performance optimization and writing efficient code for resource-limited environments.
• Ability to swiftly comprehend and implement complex research papers.
• Proven capability to be outcome-oriented and deliver functional code that addresses real-world challenges.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to excel in a dynamic, ambiguous startup environment.
