Applied Practice Experience Administrator – Masters Public Health

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire operational lifecycle of the MPH Applied Practice Experience, from student readiness and planning through to completion and necessary documentation.

• Act as the main operational contact between the MPH program, students, preceptors, practice sites, Career Services, academic advising, and other university stakeholders.

• Inform students about APE requirements, timelines, documentation, and subsequent steps.

• Coordinate the collection and initial administrative assessment of preceptor CVs or résumés, practice site details, and student practicum plans.

• Forward materials needing academic discretion, competency evaluation, exceptions, or final academic endorsement to the appropriate Public Health faculty or program leadership.

• Keep records of practice sites, preceptors, affiliation agreements, student progress, and APE completion.

• Maintain directories for practice sites and preceptors and assist in the systematic evaluation of practice sites and student experiences.

• Foster relationships with public health, healthcare, governmental, nonprofit, community-based, and other organizations to broaden APE opportunities.

• Identify and communicate current and future APE capacity needs and assist in student placement planning.

• Manage the development, routing, tracking, renewal, and communication of affiliation agreements.

• Monitor student progress, flag missing or overdue items, and escalate any irregularities or challenges.

• Gather and organize feedback and completion data from students, preceptors, and practice sites.

• Provide reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, risks, and recommendations to Public Health program leadership.

• Assist with CEPH accreditation documentation, evidence requests, self-study preparation, and monitoring activities.

• Ensure operational compliance with university standards, practice site requirements, and approved APE procedures.

• Develop, document, maintain, and review standard operating procedures.

• Analyze operational data, processing times, student progression, practice site capacity, and partner feedback.

• Support the implementation of approved APE workflows and documentation standards.

• Suggest process enhancements to improve efficiency, transparency, quality, and readiness for accreditation.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in public health, healthcare administration, higher education, education, business administration, or a related field.

• At least 1 year of experience in public health, higher education, experiential education, student services, program administration, accreditation, compliance, or a similar environment.

• Proficient in managing complex processes, documentation, deadlines, and multiple stakeholders.

• Proven experience in utilizing data to support operational decisions, enhance student success, or drive quality improvement.

• Competent in Microsoft 365, database systems, and technology platforms used for student support, program management, or experiential education.

• Preferred: A Master of Public Health or a related graduate degree.

• Preferred: Understanding of CEPH accreditation requirements and MPH Applied Practice Experiences.

• Preferred: Over 1 year of experience coordinating practicums, internships, field education, service learning, or other applied practice activities.

• Preferred: Experience collaborating with public health agencies, healthcare organizations, governmental entities, nonprofit organizations, or community-based partners.

• Preferred: Certification in Public Health (CPH), if applicable.

• Preferred: Familiarity with reporting, workflow tools, or experiential learning management platforms.

• Remote employees must have access to a reliable internet connection and a dedicated, well-equipped workspace free from distractions.
