Applied AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Indonesia.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of internal tools from inception to completion, addressing operational challenges through design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing improvements.

• Develop across the entire stack as needed by the product: Python/Go services on Cloud Run, TypeScript web applications and internal administrative tools, event-driven integrations on Pub/Sub, and cloud infrastructure on GCP.

• Collaborate with third-party SaaS platforms and cloud APIs, managing REST, webhooks, OAuth, and event-driven architectures, including handling failures, retries, and schema changes.

• Create and sustain workflow automation and business process orchestration as named, observable flows rather than embedding logic within vendor scripts.

• Effectively utilize AI tools throughout the development lifecycle—specification, coding, and review—guiding Claude as a coding partner while taking responsibility for the output.

• Evaluate AI-generated code prior to deployment for accuracy, security, and type safety.

• Manage the systems you develop: overseeing monitoring, reliability, cost, and potential failure modes in a production environment.

• Contribute to the establishment of shared engineering standards, playbooks, and internal tooling.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally, 3-9 years of experience in professional software engineering.

• Experience in end-to-end product delivery: you have launched and maintained production software for real users—not merely features in isolation, but complete products from initial concept to deployment.

• Expertise in backend engineering: skilled in Python or Go (or both); capable of owning a service from design through to deployment on Cloud Run.

• Proficiency in frontend engineering: experienced with TypeScript / React; adept at creating UI-complete features like internal dashboards or administrative tools.

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure: you deploy and manage systems on GCP and are familiar with IAM, secrets management, Cloud Run, and deployment pipelines.

• Experience with API and systems integration: you have successfully integrated multiple third-party platforms in production environments, including REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth flows, and event-driven designs, while managing failures, retries, and schema evolution.

• Strong security practices: no hardcoded credentials; you utilize secrets management (SOPS, Secret Manager, or similar); ensure no PII is logged; maintain solid application security hygiene.

• Familiarity with AI in the development lifecycle: you actively employ AI tools (Claude Code or similar) throughout the full software development life cycle, critically review AI-generated outputs for correctness, security, and type safety, and can guide AI in executing multi-step implementation tasks while owning the final results.
