Applied AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop innovative AI-driven product features from conception to deployment.

• Enhance current AI workflows to boost quality, reliability, latency, and user satisfaction.

• Design and implement workflows based on LLMs, including structured outputs, validation logic, and fallback mechanisms.

• Create evaluation loops, tests, and quality assurance processes for AI-generated outputs.

• Incorporate AI functionalities into existing product and backend infrastructures.

• Collaborate with both commercial and open-source LLMs without being restricted to a single provider.

• Facilitate self-hosted model workflows when advantageous for quality, speed, cost, or control.

• Troubleshoot AI feature failures across inputs, outputs, data, backend logic, and user interactions.

• Utilize AI development tools as an integral part of your daily operations.

• Deliver results swiftly while maintaining high production quality.

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams while taking genuine ownership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient software engineering skills, particularly in Python or a similar backend language.

• Experience in developing AI-driven product features or workflows based on LLMs.

• Capability to swiftly transform vague product concepts into functional software.

• Strong grasp of designing, testing, validating, and enhancing AI outputs.

• Proficient in integrating AI workflows into production environments.

• Excellent debugging skills across application logic, data, model outputs, and user interactions.

• Experience with evaluation, testing, validation, or quality assurance for AI-generated outputs.

• Significant experience utilizing AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, or similar in your daily activities.

• High intelligence, quick learning ability, proactive mindset, and sense of ownership.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, making rapid decisions, and thriving in a high-trust startup environment.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.
