Application Support Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Providing support for the maintenance of Applications/Services by offering backend administration and assistance within the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

• Planning, designing, developing, migrating, installing, or implementing various technology products, or enhancing software programs.

• Assisting in defining requirements, designing and constructing data center technology components, and contributing to testing efforts.

• Supporting acceptance testing of applications within the designated cloud environment.

• Addressing application bugs related to migration issues.

• Organizing and collaborating with application functional owners for necessary testing of applications before, during, and after migration.

• Reporting and resolving issues associated with infrastructure and application migration activities.

• Determining the Definition of Ready for work items to be included in Sprint activities.

• Delivering functional software or acceptable outputs in every iteration/activity.

• Assisting the Product Owner in breaking down larger work items (Epics, User Stories) into smaller User Stories based on functional activities.

• Estimating Product Backlog items (Epics, User Stories), decomposing User Stories into smaller, actionable Tasks, estimating Tasks during Sprint Planning, committing to Sprint delivery based on the Definition of Done, and adhering to Definition of Done activities.

• Reporting daily status and impediments during Daily Stand-Up activities.

• Escalating impediments and maintaining frequent (daily) communication with and demonstration of progress to the Product Owner.

• Managing all Scrum board activities.

• Maintaining the project management tool (JIRA).

⛳️ Requirements

• US Citizenship is required.

• T3/T5 (TS / TS SCI w/Poly) – Fully Cleared Only; must confirm that clearance is active.

• A Bachelor’s Degree is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience is required.

• Must have administration experience with at least two of the following applications: ALM Octane, UFT, LoadRunner, Dynatrace, ReadyAPI, CyberArk, VMWare/Horizon.

• Proficient in the installation and configuration of application client tools on VDI Images and Pools.

• Strong experience with Oracle Linux or RHEL operating systems is essential.

• Hands-on experience with STIG compliance, preferably using Evaluate-STIG, Mitre SAF Heimdall, or equivalent.

• Skilled in diagnosing and resolving application connectivity and integration issues.

• Experience in configuring load balancing for Applications.

• Knowledge of SAML/SSO authentication and application-level configuration for identity integrations.

• Providing Level 2 and Level 3 support for application and integration issues.

• Creating a management plan, validating sizing, and forecasting sizing.

• Managing and safeguarding licenses, keys, and other sensitive secrets within an approved vaulting solution.

• Experience producing and maintaining CDRL documentation.

• Preferred experience with Microsoft Windows Server Administration.

• Strong verbal, written, organizational, and documentation skills are required.

• Current CompTIA Security+ certification is necessary.

• At least one of the following certifications for 8570 Baseline: CISSP, CCNA, CAP, CASP+ CE, CCISO, CND, CSSLP, CYSA+, GSLC, SSCP.
