Application Engineering Manager

📋 Description

• Lead, coach, and mentor engineering teams; cultivate a culture of ownership, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Ensure predictable delivery through effective planning, execution, risk management, and collaboration across teams.

• Eliminate obstacles through proactive technical engagement, including debugging, design evaluations, and swift problem resolution.

• Provide architectural and design guidance to guarantee that solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable.

• Conduct code and design assessments, promoting engineering best practices and robust system architecture.

• Investigate complex production challenges across frontend, backend, and database layers to restore service and avert future occurrences.

• Oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of NodeJS services/APIs and React web applications with a focus on clean, extensible architecture.

• Manage SQL Server data design and performance, encompassing schema design, complex queries, stored procedures, and optimization.

• Ensure strong API integration patterns (RESTful and internal services), resilience, and secure-by-design methodologies.

• Direct engineering operations across Azure and GCP platforms, including deployment readiness, operational reliability, and scalability.

• Advocate for engineering practices aligned with hosted and cloud-native architectures, high availability, and operational excellence.

• Offer technical leadership for ColdFusion applications (CFML, CFCs, custom tags, modular design), integrating with contemporary web stacks.

• Lead the support and modernization of Windows C++ desktop and service-based applications, focusing on debugging, performance enhancement, and reliability improvements.

• Ensure well-structured engineering workflows using Git-based version control and disciplined release methodologies.

• Collaborate closely with QA, Product, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to uphold high quality and release readiness across all environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering.

• 2+ years of experience in a leadership role for engineering teams.

• Strong proficiency in NodeJS.

• Strong proficiency in React.

• Strong proficiency in Python.

• Strong proficiency in SQL Server.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Strong proficiency in ColdFusion.

• Strong proficiency in Windows C++.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology is preferred.
