Application Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and coach engineers while cultivating a culture of ownership, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

• Facilitate predictable delivery through efficient planning, execution, risk management, and coordination across teams.

• Eliminate obstacles through hands-on technical engagement, including debugging, design reviews, and swift problem resolution.

• Offer architectural and design leadership to ensure that solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable.

• Conduct code and design reviews to reinforce engineering best practices and sound system architecture.

• Perform in-depth analysis of intricate production issues spanning frontend, backend, and database layers to restore service and prevent future occurrences.

• Spearhead the development and ongoing support of NodeJS services/APIs and React web applications with clean and extensible architecture.

• Supervise SQL Server data design and performance, covering schema design, complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

• Ensure robust API integration patterns (both RESTful and internal services), resiliency, and security-focused design practices.

• Direct engineering execution across Azure and GCP environments, addressing deployment readiness, operational reliability, and scalability.

• Advocate for engineering practices that are in line with hosted and cloud-native architectures, high availability, and operational excellence.

• Provide technical leadership for ColdFusion applications (CFML, CFCs, custom tags, modular design), ensuring integration with modern web stacks.

• Lead the support and modernization of Windows C++ desktop and service-based applications, focusing on debugging, performance optimization, and reliability improvements.

• Ensure well-structured engineering workflows utilizing Git-based version control and disciplined release processes.

• Collaborate closely with QA, Product, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to uphold high quality and release readiness across all environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering.

• 2+ years of experience in a leadership role for engineers.

• Expertise in NodeJS.

• Expertise in React.

• Expertise in Python.

• Expertise in SQL Server.

• Expertise in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Expertise in ColdFusion.

• Expertise in Windows C++.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology is preferred.
