Application Engineer – Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Provide technical support for both pre-sales and post-sales to data center clients and partners.

• Collaborate with sales teams to determine customer needs and convert them into technical solutions.

• Design and enhance system architectures for the integration of Skeleton’s ultracapacitors within data center UPS, backup power, and energy efficiency applications.

• Conduct on-site visits, deliver technical training, and perform product demonstrations.

• Assist in system design, which includes electrical schematics, thermal considerations, and lifecycle cost analysis.

• Work closely with R&D and Product Development to relay field feedback and enhance product-market alignment.

• Create technical documentation such as specifications, integration guides, and white papers specifically for the U.S. data center sector.

• Ensure adherence to relevant U.S. industry standards and certifications (UL, IEEE, etc.).


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 3 years of experience as an application or field engineer within the data center or power infrastructure sector.

• In-depth knowledge of power backup systems, UPS, batteries, and/or ultracapacitors.

• Familiarity with thermal management, grid-tied systems, and operational requirements of data centers.

• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Willingness to travel domestically (up to 25–40%) for customer meetings and site assistance.

• Authorization to work in the U.S.

• **Additional qualifications that would be beneficial:**

• Experience with Tier 1 or hyperscale data center operators.

• Understanding of energy storage regulations and incentive programs within the U.S.

• Practical experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS) or electrical CAD software.

• Background in industrial or grid-connected systems, particularly in backup power applications.
