This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Architectural Leadership: Guide the design and architecture of resilient, scalable, secure, and high-performance applications, establishing technical standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Container Orchestration & Strategy: Design and manage the deployment of containerized workloads, specifically utilizing Kubernetes (K8s) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) to ensure high availability and effective resource management.
• Solution Design & Strategy: Convert intricate business requirements and user stories into comprehensive technical designs, architectural blueprints, and implementation approaches.
• Technology Selection: Assess and recommend suitable technologies, frameworks, and platforms, with a particular focus on GCP services and cloud-native architectures.
• Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Offer expert technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, conducting code reviews and ensuring compliance with architectural principles (such as the 12-factor app methodology).
• Performance & Scalability: Create solutions that adhere to rigorous performance, scalability, and reliability standards, leveraging GKE’s auto-scaling capabilities to accommodate changing needs.
• Integration Strategy: Develop strategies for integrating various systems, including APIs, microservices, third-party platforms, and legacy applications.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to guarantee alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
• Roadmapping & Innovation: Contribute to technical roadmaps, keeping up with emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML integration, serverless, Service Mesh/Istio) to foster innovation.
• Risk Management: Identify potential technical risks, especially concerning infrastructure security and cluster management, proposing mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in software development, including 3-5 years in an Application Architect or similar senior leadership position.
• Expertise in Kubernetes: Profound, hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing production-grade clusters; experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) is highly preferred.
• Cloud Mastery: Demonstrated success in designing and deploying cloud-native applications on GCP.
• Modern Patterns: Strong knowledge of Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Serverless, and N-tier applications.
• Language Proficiency: Proficient in Java and at least one other modern programming language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Go, C#).
• Data Modeling: Skilled in designing data models and choosing suitable database technologies (Relational, NoSQL).
• API & Security: Extensive experience with RESTful API design, API Gateways (e.g., Apigee), and secure development practices.
• DevOps & Automation: Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Helm), and automation tools.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of leading technical discussions and presenting complex architectural designs to stakeholders.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work in shifts and the capability to operate independently or as part of a collaborative, global team.
