This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the design and architecture of resilient, scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.
• Develop and integrate intelligent software architectures that incorporate APIs, state management, and memory systems.
• Establish governance standards for agent observability, error management, and human-in-the-loop procedures.
• Convert business needs and user stories into technical designs, architectural frameworks, and implementation plans.
• Assess and suggest technologies, frameworks, and platforms, with a focus on GCP services and cloud-native architectures.
• Guide development teams, perform code reviews, and uphold architectural principles such as the 12-factor methodology.
• Design for rigorous performance, scalability, and reliability standards.
• Create integration strategies for APIs, microservices, third-party platforms, and legacy systems.
• Work collaboratively with clients, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps and foster innovation in AI/ML, serverless computing, and Service Mesh/Istio.
• Recognize technical risks related to infrastructure security and cluster management, and suggest mitigations.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive software development experience.
• 3 to 5 years in a role such as Application Architect or other senior leadership position.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying cloud-native applications on GCP.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, event-driven architecture, serverless computing, and N-tier applications.
• Proficient in Java and Spring Boot, along with at least one additional modern programming language such as Python, .NET, Node.js, Go, or C#.
• Skilled in data modeling and relational or NoSQL database technologies.
• Extensive experience with RESTful API design, API Gateways, and secure development practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Helm, and automation solutions.
• Knowledge of frontend frameworks, including React; ideally familiar with another framework such as Angular, Vue, or Svelte.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Willingness to work in shifts and independently or collaboratively within a global team.
