This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.
• Manage daily accounts payable functions, encompassing invoice processing workflows, coordination of approvals, and communication with vendors.
• Verify the accuracy of freight and operational vendor invoices, ensuring they are recorded promptly and in the appropriate accounting period.
• Assist with monthly closing tasks related to accounts payable, which includes oversight of accruals, reconciliations, and examination of AP-related journal entries.
• Track vendor balances, perform statement reconciliations, and monitor credit activity to ensure that discrepancies are resolved swiftly.
• Administer corporate card expense compliance, focusing on coding accuracy, receipt management, and adherence to company policies.
• Oversee the vendor onboarding process and ensure that accurate vendor records are maintained across accounting and operational systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, Commercial, and Data teams to address billing issues and enhance visibility into shipment-level costs.
• Supervise the ingestion of invoice data and system workflows to guarantee precise expense classification and reporting.
• Lead initiatives for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and facilitate scalable accounts payable operations.
• Mentor and develop accounts payable team members, including prioritization of workloads, training, and performance assistance.
• Compile and present reports on accounts payable metrics such as processing timelines, aging trends, and cost variances.
• Aid in tax documentation and compliance obligations related to vendor payments, including annual 1099 processes.
• Support various finance projects and operational initiatives as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 6-8+ years of experience in accounts payable, ideally in a US-based organization.
• 2-4 years of experience in managing accounts payable staff and directing daily accounts payable operations.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
• Practical experience with Salesforce, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), QuickBooks Online (QBO), NetSuite, Bill.com, Tipalti, and Ramp is advantageous.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for financial analysis and reporting.
• Excellent analytical and organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Capable of effective communication across departments and time zones.
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote and fast-paced setting.
• Experience in logistics, shipping, or transportation is a plus.
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
