Animal Feed Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Conduct audits for third-party animal feed certification in accordance with SGS protocols and relevant standards, such as GMP+, FAMIQS, GMP, SFSF, and HACCP.

• Gather and assess adequate information to present certification recommendations.

• Execute certification audits following both global and local procedures, as well as sector-specific schemes and standards.

• Evaluate audit evidence to determine whether registration should be recommended or allowed to continue.

• Implement the SGS Certification System in all auditing processes.

• Collaborate effectively with auditor teams during audit activities.

• Ensure customers receive a comprehensive audit experience that meets SGS accredited certification requirements.

• Support the training of other Auditors and Senior Auditors.

• Take part in witness audits organized by SGS or accreditation bodies.

• Maintain all credentials related to audits.

• Engage in additional tasks assigned by Certification Audit or Technical Accreditation managers.

• Comply with internal standards, policies, and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in animal feed/nutrition, food science, or biosciences is mandatory.

• Post-secondary education in biology, chemistry, food engineering, pharmacy, agricultural engineering, nutrition, or zootechnology is advantageous.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required.

• Must be qualified as a Lead Auditor for HACCP (third-party audit scheme, e.g., SQF).

• Knowledge in food/feed microbiology, food safety, chemistry, animal nutrition, animal production, animal health, Feed GMP, and Feed and Food HACCP is essential.

• A total of 4 years of work experience in Management Systems is necessary.

• At least 2 years of the total 4 years must be in Feed/Food Safety Management Systems.

• A solid background and understanding of the technical applications of the standards is required.

• Proficiency in English at the highest advanced level.

• Basic mathematical skills are necessary.

• Basic reasoning abilities are required.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills are a must.

• A proactive approach and strong organizational abilities are essential.

• Capacity to respond effectively in high-pressure situations and make sound, well-founded audit conformity decisions.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while ensuring timely results.

• Must demonstrate integrity, tact, and character in all dealings.

• Willingness to travel up to 80% by car or airplane, including potential international travel with flights exceeding 8 hours; weekend travel may also be required.
