Android Software Engineer, Artificial Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-quality Android applications in Kotlin for production use.

• Create and implement user-friendly, responsive mobile interfaces tailored for insurance, payments, and customer workflows.

• Integrate backend APIs related to quotations, policy management, claims, and transactional services.

• Contribute to mobile functionalities that incorporate AI-driven features, such as chat experiences, recommendations, and automation processes.

• Enhance application performance, responsiveness, battery efficiency, and memory management across various devices.

• Implement analytics, crash reporting, and tracking of user behavior.

• Work collaboratively with backend, product, design, and AI/ML teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of production mobile systems.

• Advance engineering standards, architectural designs, and mobile best practices.

• Deliver robust, high-performance Android experiences utilized at scale.

• Decrease crashes and production incidents through improved engineering methodologies.

• Release mobile features with a strong emphasis on system design and testing discipline.

• Facilitate AI-driven product functionalities through mobile integration.

• Contribute to a scalable and maintainable mobile architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Android development with Kotlin.

• Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is mandatory.

• Strong grasp of Android architecture components and contemporary development practices.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering production-ready Android applications.

• In-depth knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, and asynchronous programming techniques.

• Experience in integrating RESTful APIs and engaging with distributed systems.

• Familiarity with mobile performance optimization and debugging in production settings.

• Exposure to AI-enabled mobile features, such as chat interfaces, recommendation systems, and automation workflows is advantageous.

• Experience with on-device machine learning or frameworks like TensorFlow Lite is a bonus.

• Having published apps on the Google Play Store is a plus.

• Tech Stack: Kotlin/Java, Android Jetpack, ViewModel, Compose/XML-based UI, Coroutines/Flow, RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, and TensorFlow Lite/on-device ML frameworks.
