Android Software Engineer, Artificial Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain high-quality Android applications for production using Kotlin.

• Create and implement user-friendly, responsive mobile interfaces for insurance, payment systems, and customer workflows.

• Connect backend APIs for quotes, policy management, claims, and transactional services.

• Play a key role in developing mobile features that incorporate AI-assisted functionalities (e.g., chat experiences, recommendations, automated workflows).

• Enhance application performance, responsiveness, battery conservation, and memory usage across various devices.

• Implement analytics, crash reporting, and user behavior monitoring to elevate product quality.

• Work in close collaboration with backend, product, design, and AI/ML teams throughout the development process.

• Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of production mobile systems.

• Continuously enhance engineering standards, architecture, and mobile best practices.

• Deliver robust, high-performance Android experiences utilized at scale.

• Improve app reliability, responsiveness, and efficiency across devices.

• Minimize crashes and production incidents through enhanced engineering practices.

• Confidently release mobile features with a strong focus on system design and testing discipline.

• Enable AI-assisted product capabilities through mobile integration where relevant.

• Contribute to a scalable and maintainable mobile architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of Android development experience utilizing Kotlin.

• Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is essential.

• Strong grasp of Android architecture components and contemporary development methodologies.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering production-ready Android applications.

• In-depth knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, and asynchronous programming.

• Experience in integrating RESTful APIs and working with distributed systems.

• Familiar with mobile performance optimization and debugging in production settings.

• Exposure to AI-enabled mobile features (e.g., chat interfaces, recommendation systems, automation workflows) is beneficial.

• Experience with on-device machine learning or frameworks like TensorFlow Lite is a plus.

• Strong ownership mentality with attention to detail and focus on product quality.

• Having published apps on the Google Play Store is an advantage.
