Android Developer – Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the mobile application team of a digital banking platform that caters to millions of users, concentrating on card, credit, payments, and account experiences.

• Become a member of a product squad, tackling business challenges and taking accountability for app performance metrics.

• Design and enhance Android application features using Kotlin, emphasizing performance, stability, and minimizing crash rates.

• Convert business journeys into product deliveries along with relevant conversion metrics.

• Integrate the application with GCP services, such as Firebase, APIs on Cloud Run/Cloud Functions, and event handling via Pub/Sub.

• Implement telemetry and business events, ensuring data ingestion into BigQuery for product decision-making and A/B testing.

• Adhere to industry security standards, including biometrics, certificate pinning, root/tamper detection, safeguarding sensitive information, and compliance with LGPD (Brazilian Data Protection Law) and internal regulations.

• Engage in the mobile CI/CD cycle, which includes builds, automated testing, distribution, and publication to the Play Store.

• Participate in code reviews, architectural choices, and the propagation of best practices within the squad.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in advanced Kotlin, including Coroutines and Flow.

• Familiarity with Jetpack Compose and the Jetpack ecosystem: Navigation, Room, WorkManager, and DataStore.

• Knowledge of MVVM or MVI architecture, Clean Architecture, modularization, and dependency injection using Hilt or Koin.

• Experience in consuming REST APIs with Retrofit/OkHttp, along with error handling, caching, and managing offline states.

• Ability to write automated unit tests using JUnit and MockK.

• Skilled in instrumented/UI testing with Espresso or Compose Testing.

• Proficient in Git and working within an agile squad that follows established code review practices.

• Experience with Firebase and at least one additional Google Cloud Platform service.

• Prior exposure to high-transaction-volume products, such as banking, fintech, payments, or digital retail.

• Nice-to-haves: Familiarity with Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, IAM, BigQuery, Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Fastlane, Feature Flags, Remote Config, Firebase A/B Testing, PIX, Open Finance, card tokenization, digital wallets, PCI-DSS compliance, Kotlin Multiplatform, cross-platform experience, Google Cloud certification, and accessibility/Play Store compliance.
