
Anaplan Systems Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the strategic roadmap and architecture for Anaplan, encompassing sales compensation, headcount planning, and forecasting modules.
• Act as the primary escalation point for issues related to data integrity and lead investigations into root causes when Anaplan fails to align with source-of-truth systems.
• Oversee external Anaplan consultants and implementation partners, managing statements of work, proposals, timelines, and ensuring quality.
• Collaborate with Sales Finance, RevOps, Sales Compensation, and Accounting leadership to convert commission plans, ASC 606 accrual methodology, and organizational changes into scalable model designs.
• Propel FP&A finance transformation by modernizing planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Lead improvements in processes and controls to identify data issues prior to payroll processing and month-end close.
• Present platform strategies and recommendations to finance leadership, including considerations for build-versus-buy, technical debt, and maintainability trade-offs.
• Provide guidance to FP&A leadership on finance technology and AI-enabled tools.
• Develop and mentor a team responsible for model builds, integrations, and ongoing support.
• Manage platform governance, including user access, security, environment management, and documentation standards.
• Promote standardization and automation across reporting.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in building and implementing Anaplan solutions.
• More than 3 years in a leadership or senior individual-contributor role, directly managing scope and stakeholders.
• Anaplan Certified Model Builder, Level 2 or higher; Master Anaplanner certification preferred.
• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Anaplan models for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and sales compensation.
• Strong expertise in Data Hub integration and design.
• Proven experience leading finance transformation initiatives.
• Experience in managing external consultants and implementation partners, including scoping and evaluating proposals.
• Solid understanding of sales compensation structures, ASC 606 commission accounting, and FP&A forecasting concepts.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex cross-system data reconciliation challenges.
• Familiarity with system implementation methodologies such as requirements gathering, design, build/test, and deployment.
• Agile experience is advantageous.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to convey technical model logic to non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Workato or similar integration/automation platforms is beneficial.
