This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Construct and uphold analytical frameworks that assess battery dispatch strategies, revenue stacking, and optimization that accounts for degradation.
• Create valuation models for batteries, solar plus storage, and behind-the-meter distributed energy resources (DER) across various market scenarios.
• Examine battery sizing, siting, and dispatch strategies by utilizing nodal pricing, congestion, ancillary services, and customer load patterns.
• Assist in the expansion of Virtual Power Plant (VPP) valuation and program economics models into new Independent System Operators (ISOs)/Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) and utility programs.
• Integrate ancillary service programs, demand response frameworks, and market settlement logic into valuation tools.
• Develop and manage software and data solutions that support portfolio valuation, load forecasting, profit and loss analytics, and risk reporting.
• Contribute to the enhancement of Rhythm’s proprietary valuation and portfolio analytics platforms.
• Build distributed data pipelines and modeling workflows utilizing Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake.
• Create automated validation and monitoring frameworks for valuation and reporting data pipelines.
• Develop reporting layers and dashboards to track exposure, VPP performance, portfolio economics, and financial risk metrics.
• Facilitate integrations with ISO market feeds, telemetry systems, and various external data sources.
• Collaborate with VPP, Finance, Product, Portfolio Management, and Credit teams to define and deliver analytical systems and improvements.
• Work alongside Data Engineering and Software Engineering teams to enhance continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), deployment, and production reliability practices.
• Assist in establishing scalable analytics engineering standards and best practices throughout the organization.
• Take charge of key initiatives and offer technical leadership on impactful analytical projects.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, Quantitative Analytics, or similar technical positions.
• At least 2 years of experience in retail or wholesale energy markets, preferably supporting Portfolio Management, Risk Analytics, DER, or VPP economics.
• Proficient in Python, including familiarity with pandas, numpy, PySpark, or comparable analytical frameworks.
• Experience with distributed data systems such as Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, or Hive.
• Proven ability in building ETL workflows, orchestration systems, and analytical data models.
• Strong grasp of energy markets, portfolio valuation, and risk management principles.
• Experience in developing valuation, forecasting, profit and loss, or asset performance models.
• Excellent communication skills and capability to work collaboratively with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices, Git, and production-quality analytics workflows.
