This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop and scale data pipelines: Design and implement scalable data pipelines, from initial scoping to final delivery.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to determine data requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Establish a reliable reporting infrastructure: Build efficient, thoroughly tested data models that support internal reporting, self-service analytics, and informed decision-making.
• Design scalable data models: Utilize modeling frameworks (such as one big table, entity tables, event streams, Kimball) tailored to specific use cases.
• Optimize and monitor performance: Ensure pipeline health, enhance query performance, and implement data quality monitoring processes.
• Empower the team: Document solutions, set best practices, and assist in upskilling fellow Analytics Engineers and Analysts.
• Integrate cross-domain data: Collaborate across different domains to unify data into cohesive, reusable reporting frameworks.
• Over 3 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or related fields.
• Proficient in DBT: Comfortable handling complex DBT projects and various materializations (incremental, table, view, etc.), along with snapshots, variables, macros, and Jinja.
• Strong SQL skills: Focused on query optimization and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with modern data stack: Experience with DBT Core and/or DBT Cloud, Git. Experience with Redshift is a plus.
• Collaborative mindset: Ability to work effectively with analysts, PMs, and engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Effective communicator: Capable of adjusting communication styles for different audiences and linking technical work to business results.
• Proactive approach: Recognize opportunities for enhancement and take action without waiting for direction.
• AI-curious: Experience or interest in utilizing AI tools for development processes. A background in AI-assisted development is advantageous.
