Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the data, including the analytics models, metric definitions, and the visualizations created in platforms like Looker and Observable.

• Determine the appropriate content for each audience.

• Guide the work of infrastructure and engineering teams to ensure the right data is integrated into the system.

• Transform existing workflows into a structured plan and execute it.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable data models and views in Looker/Observable that cater to both customer-facing and internal analytics needs.

• Collaborate with engineering to create and deliver polished customer-facing data visualizations for enterprise builders.

• Work alongside Product and Customer Success teams to identify the metrics necessary for informed decision-making, and subsequently develop the reporting to support those metrics.

• Set the strategic direction for the analytics stack and determine the optimal location for reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in analytics, data science, or business intelligence, managing projects from modeling to presentation.

• Demonstrated proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL within a business context, with a solid understanding of data modeling principles.

• Practical experience with a BI/visualization tool such as Looker or Observable.

• Familiarity with data warehouses and pipelines (BigQuery, S3, or equivalent) and product analytics tools (PostHog or similar).

• Proven experience in developing both internal and customer-facing dashboards and reports.

• Strong capability to manage fast-paced, ambiguous projects with a high level of organization and independence.

• Excellent judgment regarding the appropriate data for different audiences.
