This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
β’ Utilize advanced data analytics to extract insights and enhance credit strategies across various products and regions.
β’ Collaborate with the Engineering team to design and implement scalable risk models and credit risk capabilities.
β’ Track portfolio performance and macroeconomic trends affecting loan outcomes; proactively modify underwriting and marketing strategies to reduce risk.
β’ Work closely with Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to interpret changing regulatory and market requirements across different jurisdictions, translating them into credit policy, underwriting, and product design recommendations.
β’ Engage and coordinate with external partners, including merchants, vendors, and regulatory agencies, to align credit risk practices, ensure compliance, and strengthen strategic collaborations.
β’ Supervise the development and execution of credit underwriting frameworks that balance growth, compliance, and risk mitigation objectives.
β’ Facilitate cross-functional discussions to ensure that new product launches and market entries are consistent with risk appetite, operational capabilities, and local regulations.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience (or equivalent senior-level experience).
β’ Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
β’ Skills in data mining, data visualization, and statistical modeling.
β’ Experience applying machine learning techniques in credit risk management.
β’ Expertise in utilizing advanced analytics to create and optimize credit strategies.
β’ Ability to monitor and interpret model performance metrics across various portfolios.
β’ Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives that connect Product, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering to align credit strategies with regulatory frameworks and business goals.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of consumer lending regulations, fair lending principles, and regional market factors that influence credit policy and underwriting.
β’ Capability to translate complex regulatory and economic insights into actionable credit and product strategies.
β’ Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across both technical and non-technical domains.
