Analyst, Global Agriculture Reinsurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver analytical and operational assistance to the Global Agriculture underwriting team

• Aid underwriters in the technical evaluation of treaty reinsurance submissions

• Support pricing analysis and validation of model inputs

• Observe and evaluate commodities markets

• Assist in the daily execution and oversight of options trading activities

• Contribute to the valuation and risk assessment of hedging positions

• Keep track of CME Group futures and options markets

• Examine primary policy and reinsurance contract language

• Maintain logs of submissions and portfolio data

• Create and distribute reports in collaboration with accounting and finance

• Address data requests from brokers and clients from ceding companies

• Monitor agriculture reinsurance market data

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, agricultural economics, mathematics, statistics, risk management, actuarial science, or a related discipline

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in (re)insurance, financial analysis, data analysis, commodities trading, or a comparable field; substantial internship experience is also valued

• Knowledge of USDA federal crop insurance programs, especially LRP and DRP

• Comprehension of coverage mechanics, anticipated prices, endorsement periods, and indemnity calculations

• Familiarity with or keen interest in options pricing principles and commodity futures markets

• Advanced Excel proficiency and comfort in handling large datasets

• Experience with Bloomberg, CME Direct, or similar commodity market platforms is a plus

• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Highly organized and self-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
