Amharic, Tigrinya OPI/VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Professionally handle calls while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Possess knowledge of industry-specific vocabulary, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver top-tier customer service during the interpretation process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients through precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Uphold established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code standards for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target languages "Amharic, Tigrinya".

• Minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Solid understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are beneficial (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
