This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Assess model outputs for factual correctness, logical consistency, flawed reasoning, and underlying assumptions.
• Identify confidently articulated errors, historical inaccuracies, improperly utilized sources, ideological bias, and assertions that surpass the available evidence.
• Develop exemplary responses and datasets that exemplify intellectual integrity, thorough source evaluation, and differentiation between primary evidence, secondary interpretations, and conjectures.
• Constructively present opposing viewpoints before offering critiques and distinguish between established facts, debated issues, and uncertainties.
• Anchor annotations and reference answers in primary sources while evaluating secondary scholarship in relation to them.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to formulate evaluation tasks, rubrics, and examples relevant to Grok’s humanities behavior and personality.
• Assist in defining precise, well-sourced, appropriately confident, and evidence-based model behavior concerning disputed humanistic inquiries.
• Extensive knowledge in at least one of the following areas: linguistics, history, classical studies, literature, poetry, philosophy, ethics, visual arts, or performing arts.
• Capability to evaluate arguments for validity, soundness, latent premises, and categorization errors.
• Consistent reliance on primary sources and the ability to compare them with secondary literature.
• Proficiency in constructively presenting opposing views and differentiating between established knowledge and interpretations or speculations.
• Exceptional analytical writing skills in English.
• Comfort in working from evolving guidelines to consistently produce annotations, critiques, and reference answers.
• PhD in a relevant field or equivalent demonstrated scholarly expertise (preferred).
• Published analytical or rigorously sourced academic work (preferred).
• Experience in teaching, academic peer review, archival research, textual criticism, historiography, or formal argument analysis (preferred).
• Familiarity with evaluating AI or LLM outputs, establishing benchmarks, or generating training data (preferred).
• For personal-device users: Chromebook, Mac with macOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later.
