AI Tutor – Design Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Assess design outputs across various visual assets, layouts, documents, websites, interactive prototypes, and/or games.

• Differentiate between subpar designs and clear, functional, well-executed work, while articulating usability concerns.

• Improve, restyle, or recreate substandard outputs to generate exceptionally strong examples.

• Compose accurate annotations and critiques that distinguish between mediocre, good, and outstanding design.

• Classify high-quality datasets related to graphic design, interface design, web experiences, game feel, and associated design writing.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on evaluation tasks, rubrics, and examples to establish design quality standards.

• Operate across diverse briefs and styles while ensuring consistent quality and sound judgment.

• Enhance SpaceXAI models and assist Grok training through design-focused annotations and contributions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven design excellence in at least one professional field, such as graphic design, brand/visual design, product or UI/UX design, web design, game design, or illustration.

• A portfolio that demonstrates strong taste and showcases finished, high-quality work.

• A keen eye for visual hierarchy, typography, spacing, color, composition, consistency, and clarity in communication.

• Capability to assess design quality beyond one’s primary specialty, clearly articulating what is effective, what is not, and the rationale behind it.

• Proficiency in English with exceptional written communication skills for critiques, annotations, and design rationale.

• High attention to detail and ability to adapt to evolving instructions in a fast-paced evaluation environment.

• Comfort in creating high-quality reference examples.

• Familiarity with modern design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or equivalent is preferred.

• Knowledge of frontend or game engines is an advantage but not mandatory.

• Personal devices must be a Chromebook, Mac with macOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later.
