This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Assess existing and anticipated AI usage trends throughout the agency.
• Analyze the compatibility and integration of AI solutions with the enterprise infrastructure.
• Maintain an overarching perspective of the agency’s AI environment to facilitate strategic decision-making.
• Offer technical guidance and governance support to project teams that are exploring or implementing AI solutions.
• Contribute to the formulation and implementation of AI governance policies, including frameworks for risk, ethics, and compliance.
• Provide advice on the design of AI systems and alignment of infrastructure to ensure interoperability and scalability.
• Engage with and follow up with the Technical Review Board (TRB) regarding component reviews for IT and AI projects.
• Assist in technical evaluations for adherence to enterprise architecture, security, and data governance standards.
• Suggest enhancements to ensure that AI initiatives comply with policy, performance, and regulatory standards.
• Promote cross-agency collaboration to improve awareness and understanding of AI technologies and governance.
• Collaborate with program teams, business stakeholders, and technical developers to align AI/ML initiatives with organizational goals.
• Clearly and effectively communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred qualification).
• Over 18 years of experience in technology and/or engineering-related fields.
• More than 8 years of experience in AI/ML architecture, data engineering, or enterprise technology strategy.
• Proven experience in developing or executing AI governance frameworks within large organizations.
• Strong grasp of federal data governance, privacy, and ethical AI principles.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to navigate multiple functional areas.
• Successful completion of a background security investigation with favorable adjudication.
